Mitsubishi Motors has signed a sponsorship deal with the Fremantle Dockers for the next two years.

WA Regional Manager, Mr Phil Noble, said that the Company was a Premier Sponsor and Exclusive Motor Vehicle Supplier to the Club, joining BankWest, CUB, Coca Cola and Russell Athletic at that level.

“We are excited about our agreement with Freo,” Mr Noble said.

“I believe they are a club going places. They are a young and exciting team, and the fit is ideal with our ‘Spirited Cars for Spirited People’ advertising tagline.

“The Dockers are at a similar stage of their development as a football team in the AFL as Mitsubishi is as a car company in Australia. The hard pre-season planning has been done, and the selectors are now picking their team.

“In our case we have a few new recruits to join our team during this year, and we are expecting big performances out of them in the main game. The Turbo Diesel Triton can be relied on to do the hard work, the bullocking work that has to be done in the packs. Every team needs a player, or two, like this.

“Our star player, the one to create the play, will come onto the team mid-season, and will be in fine form when the big games are played at the end of the year. The new Magna and Verada models are stylish and catch the eye. Just like a key midfielder in the Dockers, Magna will set up the play for us when it matters.

“To top of a fine season we will have a big goal-kicker join the team later in the year. The talk is always about the last Saturday in September; in our case our new Pajero will be kicking goals in the finals.

“Our arrangement with the Dockers is for the 2003 and 2004 seasons, and I trust that we will win a premiership, or two, together in the years to come,” Mr Noble said.
