WEST Coast's forward line crisis has deepened after Liam Ryan was ruled out of Sunday's critical encounter with Greater Western Sydney.
Ryan is working through personal challenges and won't be available after crashing his car into a tree around 6am on Monday morning.
The 21-year-old was taken to Armadale Hospital by police and missed Monday's training session, however he was back on the track the next day.
The Eagles are still clarifying details around Ryan's off-field incident and have put his welfare ahead of their dire need for avenues to goal.
"Liam has and will continue to fully co-operate with the police in respect of Monday morning’s incident," general manager of football Craig Vozzo said.
"Liam will not be considered for senior selection this week and our focus will be on supporting him in every way we can.
"Football considerations are secondary to his personal circumstances at present and we will wait until there is some clarity around the situation before making any further comment."
West Coast is already missing its top three goalkickers, with Josh Kennedy (29), Jack Darling (28) and Mark LeCras (22) on the sidelines.
Ryan has booted nine goals in his six games since he was drafted via pick 26 last year following two electrifying seasons for WAFL powerhouse Subiaco.
Kennedy (fractured leg) and Darling (ankle) could return against Collingwood in round 17, however LeCras (wrist) will be in cotton wool for a month.
The Eagles have averaged only 62 points with a weakened attack in their past three losses and are in danger of coughing up a top-four spot.
West Coast could turn to forgotten big man Nathan Vardy to boost their aerial presence in attack against the Giants, with the ex-Cat slotting two goals and taking six marks for East Perth last round.
Speedster Jack Petruccelle and rising half-forward Daniel Venables could be in the mix to replace Ryan, with Dom Sheed pushing for a recall after racking up 34 touches in the Royals' loss to South Fremantle.
