EAGLES fans are divided in their views on coach Adam Simpson.
Giving their mid-season verdict on West Coast in an AFL.com.au survey, only 54 per cent of fans said they were happy with Simmo as coach.
The Eagles have been a tease for supporters this year, with the highs including an away win against the Power at Adelaide Oval and the lows including a loss to the struggling Suns.
While a majority of fans said they expected their team to finish between sixth and eighth on the ladder, a significant 20 per cent expected West Coast to slump out of the eight.
On a positive note, Elliot Yeo's break-out year in defence has been duly recognised by supporters. The intercept-mark machine was rated as the Eagles' best performer with a whopping 82 per cent of the vote.
Here are the full survey results, plus a selection of fans' views on Nic Nat, September hopes and the need for consistency.
It'll be a good year for the Eagles if …
We get Nic Nat back before finals and get a real shot at a flag tilt with our best 22.
- Craig Murray, Perth WA
We have a crack. Need the intent and endeavour back. Has been left to too few, too often. Midfield needs an injection of youth and pace.
- Josh Croft, Beeliar WA
They can finally address the obvious! Win convincingly away from Domain Stadium.
- Charlie Goodsir, Sydney NSW
Francis Watson, Partington, Rioli and some other youngsters get some games and show some promise.
- Warwick Smith, Claremont WA
Jack Darling can assert himself as a top forward. He's got the talent!
- David Mayes, Adelaide SA
We get a taste of Nic Nat providing silver service to Sam Mitchell.
- Holly Stace, Wellard WA
We can find the heart and hunger to play good footy regularly again. Need to find the spark and desire to play. Finals beckon if we do.
- Phil Espie, Perth WA
