NORTH Melbourne forward Lindsay Thomas is at risk of another stint on the sidelines after a crude fend-off in the VFL that will be scrutinised by AFL Victoria's Match Review Panel on Monday.
Thomas, who was returning from a three-match suspension with Werribee on Saturday, lifted his elbow to push through a tackle from Northern Blues opponent Rhys Palmer, making forceful contact to the throat.
He was not reported for the incident, but it was referred to the state league MRP and will be scrutinised on Monday, with Thomas facing another ban as he fights to break back into the Kangaroos' 22.
The AFL Victoria MRP releases its findings on Monday afternoon.
Around the state leagues: Who starred in the twos?
Thomas was suspended for three weeks in the VFL early last month for a high bump on Corey Maynard that left the Melbourne rookie unconscious and battling significant concussion.
He missed five weeks as a result of the ban because of a VFL bye and North Melbourne's round 12 bye.
Thomas is contracted for 2018, but was dropped by the Kangaroos ahead of their round six clash against Gold Coast after kicking just two goals in five games.
"He had genuine intent to hurt there"
