The AFL is pleased to announce that general public tickets for the Anzac Day match between Collingwood and Essendon have sold out.
Tickets went on sale for the general public on Wednesday, February 22 and sold out yesterday, Tuesday, February 28.
Executive General Manager Customer and Commercial Kylie Rogers said early demand for tickets was an indication of the excitement building for the 2023 Toyota AFL Premiership Season.
"Footy is almost back and the anticipation from fans continues to build," Rogers said.
"Ticket sales for Round One are tracking strongly – we're expecting a big crowd for the season opener, while the buzz around the AFL's 'Gather Round' has been great."
All multi-day passes for the AFL's 'Gather Round... A Festival of Footy' have sold out.
Four of the nine matches across 'Gather Round' are now at capacity, following the recent sellout of Adelaide Crows vs Carlton, Brisbane Lions vs North Melbourne at Adelaide Hills, and Saturday's double-header between Essendon v Melbourne and Port Adelaide v Western Bulldogs at Adelaide Oval.
Limited tickets are still available for the following matches:
- Fremantle v Gold Coast SUNS, Friday 14 April, Norwood Oval
- Richmond v Sydney Swans, Friday 14 April, Adelaide Oval
- GWS GIANTS v Hawthorn, Sunday 16 April, Norwood Oval
- Geelong Cats v West Coast Eagles and Collingwood v St Kilda (doubleheader), Sunday 16 April, Adelaide Oval
Should further tickets become available for the Anzac Day Match, they will be released via Ticketek at 11am (AEST) Friday, April 21, 2023.
