DEAN Bailey and Rodney Eade concede they're not the "prettiest blokes", but the coaches were happy to don pink ponchos to promote the Field of Women LIVE event, which takes place on the MCG on Friday night.

For the first time since 2005, up to 16,000 women and men will stand together and create the Pink Lady before the clash between Melbourne and the Western Bulldogs.

The event supports Breast Cancer Network Australia and both coaches agreed it was a great opportunity for two clubs to come together and promote a worthy cause.

"For us to wear pink ponchos, for us to promote it and for both clubs to be involved is fantastic," Bailey said on Tuesday.

"The experience from what I understand of the people being on the ground, it is a very emotional point in time. Generally people have been touched in some way because of it.

"It's worthwhile, so we hope to get the numbers and really push and promote that awareness."

Eade said 2000 people had signed up since the weekend and 4000 registrations were needed to complete the Pink Lady.

"The people out there can sign up, come along, it's a great cause and I think it's a great night as well," he said.

"It's a great effect having the pink on the ground and obviously the aerial shot is fantastic. Hopefully the people can get along."
