CARLTON'S upset win over Melbourne on Sunday could prove a double draft bonus for Gold Coast.
The result saw the Blues and the Suns swap 14th and 15th spots and Melbourne slip from ninth to 10th on the ladder.
That was a double bonus for the Suns as they hold the Demons' first-round pick in the 2016 NAB AFL Draft, after securing a future first-round pick in last year's trade period.
It means the Suns now hold picks four and nine with one game to play after heading into last weekend's round holding picks five and 10.
The permutations also make the result of the Gold Coast v Port Adelaide game interesting when it comes to draft order, making the Saturday night match at Metricon Stadium anything but a dead rubber for recruiters.
The ladder positions of both the Suns and Melbourne could again change depending on the result.
If Gold Coast wins and Carlton loses to Essendon, the Suns could move ahead of the Blues to 14th on the ladder, as they are one game and one per cent behind Carlton.
If Gold Coast loses to Port Adelaide, the Suns will remain in 15th position and Melbourne could fall to 11th on the ladder if the Demons lose to Geelong.
Although the Demons are one game ahead of Port Adelaide, they have a lower percentage so the two clubs would swap spots if Melbourne loses and Port wins.

That would be a further bonus to the Suns who were staring down the barrel of losing a top-10 pick entering the last two rounds, but now could earn a pick as high as eight if the Demons fall.
Greater Western Sydney will also be interested in the results of other games as they hold Collingwood's first-round pick after receiving it in the trade for Adam Treloar.
Collingwood could move above Port Adelaide if it beats Hawthorn and Port Adelaide loses.
Gold Coast and the Giants hold 11 selections in the first two rounds of this year's NAB AFL Draft and could gain further early selections through trades, with the Giants keen to gain points to secure its talented academy graduates.
