RICHMOND has rewarded persistent on-baller Taylor Hunt with a two-year deal that will tie him to the Tigers until the end of 2017.
The Tigers secured Hunt for one year as a delisted free agent when his time at the Cats ended after 63 games in five seasons.
The 24-year-old made the Tigers team in round one and has played every game since, proving an adaptable midfielder who can either play a run-with role or spend time on the wing and half-back.
He has an enviable knack of being on the winning team, having played in 60 wins in 81 games for a winning percentage of 74 per cent including 11 wins in his 18 games at Richmond.
His chase, tackle, gather and handball just before three quarter-time that led to a Tigers goal against Hawthorn in round 17 confirmed his value for the Tigers.
Richmond football manager Dan Richardson said Hunt had been a great addition to the playing group, praising his versatility.
"At 24 years of age, we believe his best football is ahead of him, and we're excited about what more he has to offer the team in the next few seasons," Richardson said.
Hunt played in two finals with the Cats but when a shoulder injury pushed him out of the team in 2013 he found it difficult to find his place back in the side.
He played just seven games in 2014 and was delisted to seek further opportunities, but at 25 appears an excellent pick-up for Richmond, the team he barracked for growing up.
