PORT Adelaide dasher Matt White has been one of the most improved players in the competition this season.

And his great form has seen him surge up the Official AFL Player Ratings, brought to you by Gatorade.

White, who joined Port from Richmond in last year's player exchange period, has moved up 157 places on the player ratings table, from 339 to 182, since round one.

The 27-year-old is averaging 16.4 disposals per game in 2014. In his previous eight seasons with the Tigers, his best average was 14.7 disposals in 2009.

White gets another great chance to test himself against a top side when the Power take on Hawthorn at Adelaide Oval on Saturday night.

Another player who has surged up the table in recent times is Gold Coast midfielder Jaeger O'Meara.

O'Meara, who will run out against the Western Bulldogs at Metricon Stadium on Sunday afternoon, has jumped 171 places, from 296 to 125, since the start of the season.

Among the other big movers this year have been Fremantle's Nat Fyfe (75 to 28), Sydney Swan Nick Malceski (82 to 40), Dockers defender Michael Johnson (79 to 39), Swans forward Luke Parker (176 to 87) and Hawthorn midfielder Shaun Burgoyne (49 to 25).

Players who are now in career-high positions on the ratings table include Sydney Swans midfielder Dan Hannebery (59), North Melbourne's Ben Cunnington (64), Richmond's Daniel Jackson (67) and Essendon defender Michael Hibberd (68).
