FREMANTLE midfielder Matt de Boer has signed a one-year contract extension to remain at the club in 2015.

There was speculation surrounding the 24-year-old's future at Fremantle following an indifferent season.

He was one of just four Dockers to play all 25 matches in 2013 and has been an integral part of the leadership group at Fremantle.

But a knee injury at training in May set de Boer back significantly.

He returned in round 18 but bounced between the WAFL and the seniors for the remainder of the season.

He missed selection for the qualifying final against the Sydney Swans but was recalled as a late inclusion to play as the sub in the semi-final loss to Port Adelaide.

Fremantle's list manager Brad Lloyd told the club's website that the Dockers were pleased de Boer had signed a one-year deal.

"Matt is a great competitor and he has been a member of the leadership group since 2011," Lloyd said.

"He is respected highly at the club and we look forward to his contribution in 2015."
