Daniel Jackson will miss Richmond's next three matches after failing in his bid to escape a charge of headbutting.

The AFL Match Review Panel handed Jackson a two-match ban for an incident with Hawthorn’s Campbell Brown during the fourth quarter of last Sunday’s Round 8 match, but carry over points from an incident earlier this year extended the suspension to three weeks.

Jackson will miss the Tigers' games against Essendon, Port Adelaide and St Kilda.
