AXED Carlton forward Jarrad Waite has sustained a hip injury in the Northern Blues' 71-point loss to Geelong at Preston City Oval on Sunday.
 
Waite was held goalless in the match and left the field at three-quarter time with the hip complaint.
 
He will have scans on Monday to determine the extent of the injury.
 
The 31-year-old was relegated to the VFL with Carlton coach Mick Malthouse citing team balance as the reason.
 
Nick Graham was among the Blues' best performers with 29 disposals, while Tom Bell had 23 touches.
 
Small forward Jeff Garlett's struggle to regain form continued with the speedster gathering just the five disposals.
 
For Geelong, Jesse Stringer, Billie Smedts, Mitch Brown and Jordon Schroder all performed well in the win and will be in the mix for a senior recall.
 
Dumped St Kilda forward Tom Lee has staked his claim for a recall to the senior side after starring in attack during Sandringham's win over Bendigo in the VFL on Sunday.

Despite Kennedy-Harris' standout individual game, his side was convincingly beaten by Williamstown to the tune of 80 points.

The 19-year-old, who played the first 11 games of the season before being sent back to the VFL, also laid nine tackles in a determined display.

Luke Tapscott (30 touches and 10 rebound 50s) and Sam Blease (23) were other solid contributors for the Scorpions.

Collingwood young gun Tim Broomhead responded in fine style to his omission from the senior side, playing a crucial role in the Magpies VFL side's 49-point win over Richmond in Morwell.

Broomhead was ably supported by Caolan Mooney (three goals) and rookie defender Peter Yagmoor.

Experienced Tiger Dan Jackson returned from a hip injury in strong fashion with 21 touches, while Matt Arnot (30 disposals) and Ben Lennon (23) were also important.

Essendon's VFL side booted five goals and nine behinds in the final quarter to fight out a draw against Frankston.

Tom Young and Brett Goodes were pivotal performers in Footscray's 29-point win over North Ballarat.

Young had 24 possessions and Goodes booted two goals in a struggle against the Roosters.

Fremantle midfielder Matt de Boer has made a successful return to competitive football from a knee injury.
 
The 24-year-old has been sidelined for the past month after injuring the medial ligament in his left knee during training.
 
De Boer had 20 disposals, two inside 50s and three tackles in Peel Thunder's loss to Subiaco on Saturday but more importantly got through the match unscathed.
 
Anthony Morabito again starred for Thunder with 24 disposals, while Fremantle ruckman Jack Hannath kicked two goals and combined well in the ruck with Jonathon Griffin.
 
East Perth had a bye in round 14 of the WAFL.

Greater Western Sydney midfielder Toby Greene has returned to footy with a vengeance, amassing 40 disposals and a goal to lead the UWS Giants to a 43-point win over the Sydney Swans.

It was Greene's first game since completing a five-game ban imposed by the club for breaking protocol during a night out in Melbourne during May that left the youngster facing a raft of assault charges.

Greene dominated in the midfield and had the better of his battle with direct opponent, Swans midfielder Tom Mitchell.

Jono O'Rourke (32 touches) was also solid through the middle for the Giants.

Veteran Swan Lewis Roberts-Thomson was listed as the Swans' best player, along with Shane Biggs.

Port Adelaide youngsters Aaron Young and Ben Newton have helped to inspire the Port Adelaide Magpies to a 20-point win over Sturt.

Young, who recently signed a two-year contract extension with the Power, was best afield with 36 disposals and nine clearances.
