STAR Western Bulldogs duo Josh Dunkley and Caleb Daniel have signed new deals, with both committed to the club until the end of 2022.

Securing the premiership pair on three-year deals is a huge coup for the Dogs.

In Dunkley, the Bulldogs have one of the brightest big-bodied onballers in the competition.

This season, he's averaging 25 disposals, 12 contested possessions, six tackles and four clearances.

That's despite having spent much of the opening six rounds in attack rather than through the midfield. 

Then there's Daniel, who was once considered too small for the elite level.

Despite standing at 168cm, the 22-year-old has become a gun rebounding backman and is averaging 28 disposals and six rebound-50s.

Dogs list manager Sam Power highlighted what makes Daniel so dangerous.

"Over the past two years, Caleb has finished top-five in our best and fairest, highlighting his ability to perform consistently across matches and seasons," Power told westernbulldogs.com.au.

"His ball use and decision-making from the back half provides plenty of impact, and he is having an outstanding season.

"Caleb is composed under pressure and a real competitor – traits which we value really highly."

Dunkley, 22, showed his wares through the middle in a nine-game span to end last year.

In that period, his lowest disposal count was 23 and he showed what a potent force he could be when used in the role.

"Josh finished the 2018 season in strong fashion, and he has taken his game to a new level this year," Power said.

"He is an emerging leader within our group, and someone who is selfless in his approach on-field.

"We have seen Josh become a really reliable performer week-to-week, with his hardness around the contest and ability to find the ball consistently making him an important part of our midfield mix."
