The AFL congratulates David Stevenson on his appointment as CEO National Basketball League.
As AFL GM Operations, Stevenson was charged with leading and bringing the AFL team together on major projects, which included significant operational work during the Covid pandemic, the AFLs return-to-crowds initiative post-pandemic and most recently leading the inaugural Gather Round concept in South Australia. Other major projects under Stevenson's leadership have included the AFL's first ever matches for Premiership points in Shanghai and the AFL's community bushfire relief program.
"Dave has been a key player not only in our AFL team, but within the whole industry. He has been able to deliver and get expectational outcomes for our business, our clubs and our fans, both locally and internationally, which was demonstrated most recently with the success of Gather Round," AFL EGM Clubs and Broadcasting Travis Auld said.
"On behalf of everyone at the AFL we thank Dave for his many years of service to footy, he leaves our code having made a lasting impact, we wish him all the best and we look forward to seeing what he does next at the NBL."
