A SAMPLE of football managers from across the competition have endorsed the changes made to the AFL's new interchange system.

A week after re-working the interchange process, the League has moved to streamline it, doing away with post-it notes and using Champion Data to record player movements.

Steven Icke, General Manager – Football Operations, Carlton: "We'll know at the end of this round, I guess, but from our point-of-view, we applaud the AFL for having the initiative to change what was certainly an area that needed to be addressed. We now think that the solution is about right. It maintains the integrity of the game in terms of making sure there's only 18 players from each team on the field during the game, but it doesn't weigh us down with a heap of management processes."

Paul Armstrong, Football Operations Manager, Richmond: "We think they're terrific. We sent a note to Adrian (Anderson, AFL football operations manager) to say that it'll make the whole process a lot more efficient. Taking away the handwritten post-it system was a great idea."

John Reid, General Manager – Football Operations, Adelaide: "We didn't think it was that big a deal earlier, but it does streamline it. It'll be interesting to see how it's policed, but at the end of the day, all you're really looking for is that you haven't got any more than 18 blokes on."
