The inside word

The South African-born forward joined Frankston in the VFL this season and enjoyed a sensational start to the year, named in the best players in seven of the first 10 games. His second half of the year was quieter but Alwan still finished with 20 goals from 17 appearances playing anywhere from full-forward to centre half-back. Has great hands, a big leap and naturally chases the football in second and third efforts.
