GOLD Coast reserves coach Josh Fraser is leaving the Suns to return to Victoria.
Fraser has coached the club's NEAFL team the past two years and was offered a contract extension, but for family reasons is heading back to his home state.
The 33-year-old finished his 218-game playing career with the Suns in 2012, then returned to Victoria for a year before coming back to Metricon Stadium in 2014 to commence his coaching career.
"He made a huge sacrifice to relocate his family to Queensland twice to be a Gold Coast Sun, and we wish Josh and his family all the very best as they move closer to family and friends in Victoria," general manager of football operations Marcus Ashcroft said.
Fraser said it was a difficult decision to leave.
"I feel very fortunate to have been part of the Suns in both a playing and coaching capacity," Fraser said.
"My family and I look forward to watching the club continue to grow and succeed in the years to come."
Matthew Kennedy has also decided to not extend his contract after being with Gold Coast since its inception.
Kennedy most recently filled the role of high performance manager following the departure of Stephen Schwerdt mid-season.
Western Bulldogs fitness boss Justin Cordy will take this role from the commencement of the pre-season.
Assistant coach Dean Solomon is on the verge of signing an extension with the Suns.
The club will now search for Fraser's replacement before the start of pre-season training.
