David Swallow hopes manager can finalise new deal with Gold Coast
DAVID Swallow has given the strongest indication yet he will remain a Gold Coast player beyond 2014.
On the same day he was announced a joint vice-captain at the Suns, the out-of-contract Swallow said he hoped to stay at the club for the next couple of years.
His manager Colin Young said the pair had not discussed Swallow's contract, but was meeting the young Sun on Friday for their regular monthly catch-up.
Young will then meet with Gold Coast list manager Scott Clayton in Melbourne in two weeks to further negotiate Swallow's status.
"There's nothing untoward, there's no contract negotiations, no discussions at this point," Young told AFL.com.au.
"I'm catching up with him Friday and I'll see where he sits."
What will give Brisbane the edge when they meet their old foes, Adelaide, in a preliminary?
