GOLD Coast veteran Campbell Brown will take his three-match sanction to the AFL Tribunal on Tuesday night, but Essendon veteran Dustin Fletcher has accepted a two-week ban.
Melbourne's Mitch Clisby seemed initially set to challenge but the Demons announced late on Tuesday morning that the young defender had opted to plead guilty and accept a three-match ban for misconduct.
Brown was charged with misconduct by the Match Review Panel on Monday, for an incident that left Strauss with a broken nose.
The MRP judged Brown's action as reckless, medium impact and high contact.
The former Hawk risks an extra week on the sidelines by taking his case to the tribunal, but it is his only hope of playing again this season.
Brown announced via Twitter on Tuesday (see below) that he would not be pleading guilty, writing to former Adelaide player Mark Ricciuto.
Along with Fletcher, teammate Patrick Ryder has accepted his one-match ban for rough conduct while St Kilda's Adam Schneider and North Melbourne's Aaron Black have both accepted reprimands over incidents from round 20.
@markricciuto I'm contesting it mate. I can't believe it
