COLLINGWOOD has ruled out midfielder Taylor Adams for the remaining two games with an ankle injury.

Key defender Ben Reid has also been put out to pasture and the Magpies have also declared Ben Sinclair unavailable for the rest of the year after suffering four concussions in 2016.

Adams has had an injury-interrupted season but he showed excellent form in the 14 games he played.

After battling niggles early in the season, Adams suffered two hamstring injuries before the ankle issue flared.

Collingwood football manager Neil Balme told collingwoodfc.com.au that Adams' ankle was sore after Friday night and he would miss the next two weeks. 

"I don't think he will need any surgery but he won't play for the rest of the season," Balme said.

Reid played 17 games in a strong comeback following two injury-ruined seasons.

He missed Friday night's game against the Western Bulldogs with a posterior cruciate ligament injury and the Magpies have decided to not take any risks.

"We're still deciding what the course of action for that is," Balme said.

Balme said Sinclair was keen to play but the prudent course of action was to get to the bottom of why he had suffered multiple concussions. 

The trio joins Alex Fasolo, Tim Broomhead, Tom Langdon, Jamie Elliott, Dane Swan, Jackson Ramsay and Matt Scharenberg on the sidelines for the remainder of the season.
