THE BRISBANE Lions have picked up winner of The Recruit Matt Eagles as a Category B rookie.
The 199cm ruckman edged out Daniel Cox (second) and Jordan Treloar (third) to win the second season of the show.
Eagles, 26, will complement Stefan Martin and Archie Smith in the ruck department for the Lions.
Each club awarded votes in a 3-2-1 style to the three finalists to decide who would win the show.
Clubs then decided if they wanted to select Eagles, with the player himself having the choice of which of those clubs he went to.
Greater Western Sydney and Collingwood were the other teams to make themselves available to Eagles.
Mick Malthouse, who was the coach on the show, described Eagles as an aggressive player who can find the ball at ground level.
The Lions are on the hunt for a coach, with David Noble set to be announced as football manager in the coming days.
Noble was formerly the football boss at Adelaide.
Johann Wagner won The Recruit in 2014 and was awarded a spot on Port Adelaide's rookie list, while Geelong picked up Irishman Padraig Lucey despite the ruckman finishing fourth.
Wagner was delisted at the end of last year.
