Marvel Stadium is pleased to launch a brand-new initiative – Stadium Golf - that will see Australian Football and golf combine to take the familiar driving range experience to unexpected heights this September.
In a Melbourne first, Stadium Golf will see Marvel Stadium’s iconic pitch, known for hosting internationally acclaimed concerts and Australia’s most loved sporting codes, including AFL, Soccer, Rugby, and Cricket, transformed into an interactive nine-hole golf course.
Presented by Sportsbet, Stadium Golf will run exclusively from September 14-24 and give people from the age of 18 and over the chance to show off their skills by driving golf balls onto the very pitch where sporting heroes have made history.
AFL & Marvel Stadium’s Head of Consumer Business, Scott Fitzgerald, said the new initiative was one not to be missed.
“We are pleased to launch Stadium Golf in Melbourne and offer an incredibly unique and an unforgettable experience for fans in the sporting and entertainment capital,” Mr. Fitzgerald said.
“Marvel Stadium is a true entertainment hub fans can enjoy all year round, and we are eager to welcome guests on site to interact with the stadium in a way we have never seen before."
Stadium Golf participants will have the chance to tee off from all levels of Marvel Stadium.
Teeing off from multiple locations around the Stadium, including exclusive areas such as corporate boxes and the player entrance, fans will be able to test their talents with 18 strokes for the nine- holes set out on the famous green below.
Six partners have joined the initiative as hole-sponsors including Coca-Cola Europacific Partners, Mountain Goat Brewing, Resimax Telstra, MJ Bale and AFL Connect. TaylorMade has come on board to supply premium golfing equipment, while Resimax is awarding $10,000* to the first person to score a hole-in-one on its sponsored hole of the course in September.
Stadium Golf Ambassador and Melbourne Football Club premiership player Steven May said he is looking forward to experiencing Marvel Stadium in a new way.
“I’ve played at Marvel Stadium many times before, but I’m looking forward to experiencing it differently with Stadium Golf and swapping out kicking the Sherrin to teeing off golf balls from Level 3. I love playing golf with my friends and teammates, so I’m thrilled to be a Stadium Golf Ambassador and be part of this initiative which is set to be a perfect opportunity for a family day out or to enjoy with your mates this September,” May said.
Sportsbet General Manager Marketing Tim Hernadi said Stadium Golf was an exciting opportunity.
“We are thrilled to partner with the AFL in bringing Stadium Golf to life. It’s a really exciting opportunity for Sportsbet to align to this brand new entertainment concept, housed within a brilliant stadium, operating over arguably one of the most exciting times of the year in Melbourne,” Mr Hernadi said.
The unique opportunity will be available for a limited time and will offer clubhouse inspired food and beverages such as club sandwiches and more that will fuel guests ahead of their ultimate Stadium Golf experience, just in time for Footy Finals season.
Open for two weeks only, golfers are encouraged to get some swinging practice in and secure tickets early to avoid missing out on what’s set to be this year’s best round.
Tickets available to the general public from 9:00AM (EST) on Tuesday June 20 HERE
