On Tuesday, Bombers general manager of football Danny Corcoran said the pair would not challenge the bans.
"It is disappointing to lose both players but they were clear cut decisions from the Match Review Panel and we will not be challenging them," Corcoran told essendonfc.com.au.
"We have some great depth amongst our team at the moment and there are a number of players that have been knocking down the door for selection in the VFL over the last few weeks."
Ryder has accepted a three-week suspension for a high bump on Fremantle defender Luke McPharlin during the first quarter of the Bombers' victory, which resulted in McPharlin being concussed and subbed out of the match.
The MRP found Ryder's bump was reckless, of high impact and high contact.
His initial penalty was 425 points. When his 66 carryover points were added, the tally reached 491 – just shy of a five-match suspension.
By pleading guilty, Ryder reduced his sanction by 25 per cent to 368.25 points, which equates to a three-match ban.
Ryder will miss Essendon's clash with St Kilda on Saturday night, the blockbuster against Collingwood on Anzac Day and the round five game against GWS.
Kommer was cited for a high bump on Kepler Bradley, which occurred just five minutes after Ryder knocked over McPharlin.
The panel found Kommer's actions were reckless and high and the impact was medium.
His initial penalty was a three-match suspension, but the ban was reduced to two games through his guilty plea.
However, the controversial match-day report laid against Collingwood defender Harry O'Brien for rough conduct against Hawthorn skipper Luke Hodge was thrown out.
As expected, the panel found that Hodge's action contributed to the contact below the knees on O'Brien and the Collingwood player should have received a free kick.
Two other pieces of play involving Kommer were also scrutinised. The MRP looked at his slide into Lee Spurr and his trip on Tendai Mzungu, both of which occurred during the final quarter.
It was decided that the force used on both occasions was below that required for a report.
Greater Western Sydney midfielder Devon Smith has accepted a one week suspension after he was cited for rough conduct on St Kilda's Jarryn Geary during the Giants' big loss to the Saints in Canberra.
The incident was assessed as reckless, medium impact and body contact.
The initial penalty was a two-match ban, but Smith reduced to one with an early guilty plea.
A match-day report laid against Adelaide's Bernie Vince for charging Port Adelaide Chad Wingard was thrown out.
