FREMANTLE players need to be vigilant to ensure they avoid suspensions in the run home to the finals, midfielder Nathan Fyfe says.

Dockers captain Matthew Pavlich has been suspended for three matches for making forceful front-on contact with Mitch Brown during Fremantle's 28-point win over West Coast last Sunday.

Fyfe said that incident had sent alarm bells through the playing group.

"All players are on notice," Fyfe said on Tuesday.

"It was a tough one … we don't want our best players sitting in the stands through injury, illness, or undisciplined acts like that.

"(Pavlich) had a bit of a chat to us this morning. He expressed his disappointment.

"Obviously now he's accepted the decision and he'll hit the training track for the next couple of weeks to be ready and raring when we play GWS."

Fyfe said it was not unusual for a Fremantle player to address the playing group after being suspended.

"As a player that gets suspended, and I was one earlier in the year, we have to acknowledge that it's an undisciplined act that ultimately led to him being out of the side," he said.

"I was same earlier in the year. So it's important that we address it to the group because it's something we don't want to happen.

"He's done that and we move on now."

Fyfe was suspended for two matches for kicking Richmond's Daniel Jackson in round five, with the two teams to clash again on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.

"I could come up against him again. But there are no ill feelings or anything like that," Fyfe said.

"Those things happen in footy and we move on."

It will be the first time the Dockers have played at the MCG this season, after playing there just three times in 2012.

Freo won two of its three encounters at football's mecca last year beating Richmond in round 11 and Geelong in the elimination final.

"We don't get to play there that often. It's more good exposure and opportunity for guys that haven't played there much," Fyfe said.

"Ultimately finals and the Grand Final (are) played on the MCG so that's where you want to play your best footy."

Fyfe said Fremantle was wary of how dangerous the Tigers can be.

"They're a quality opposition and they always seem to play really well against us," Fyfe said.

"They've got guns across every line and I think predominantly in the midfield.

"We've got some good outside runners as well.

"I think Cam Sutcliffe has been really effective for us on the wing and he's got a huge engine. He could get a job on someone as a running player.

"I'm sure Ryan Crowley will have his work cut out on one of them this week."
