A BATCH of re-signings of young talent evidences Adelaide is becoming a destination club in the AFL, Crows coach Matthew Nicks says.

The Crows announced five contract extensions in the past week including highly rated Victorian duo Josh Rachele and Jake Soligo, and Tasmanian Chayce Jones.

Local products Max Michalanney and Harry Schoenberg have also recommitted to the Crows, who lured SA-born Jordan Dawson and Izak Rankine back to their home state in the past two years.

"We would like to be that (destination club), that's our goal," Nicks told reporters on Thursday.

"We like to have players want to come to our footy club for a number of reasons.

"Get to know South Australia because it is a beautiful place but more importantly see what's going on inside the four walls.

"And we open up now as much as we can, we share what it is we're doing.

"We're not the only side doing that, there are a lot of very good sides in the competition and they are that because they're open and transparent and we want to continue to be that.

"At the moment we're embracing a stage where we've got incredible growth coming through and a really good group of young players with a lot of experience scattered in amongst that are playing good footy."

Rachele and Soligo, both aged 20, have signed deals to remain at the Crows until the end of 2029 season.

"The reason we signed those boys for longer-term deals is because they're pros, they train at the level without a lot of coaching," Nicks said.

"We've seen them in a short period of time learn from some of our older guys like (Reilly) O'Brien and (Ben) Keays and (Taylor) Walker and (Rory) Sloane, and now they're just professional athletes.

"So we were confident we're going to see those guys continue to improve.

"I have a lot of pride in our group ... we have so many good people here that it's reward for everyone that's involved, announcing contracts like we did this week.

"A long way to go still, but we're definitely heading in the right direction so it's pleasing."

The Crows haven't played finals since 2017 but hold eighth spot on the ladder entering Sunday's MCG fixture against second-placed Collingwood.
