Originally from Victoria, Ryan was recruited in the 2002 AFL Draft and made his debut in round 10, 2005 against Geelong at Skilled Stadium.
He has continued in his customary role as a run-with player in 2010, shutting down some of the AFL's best midfielders and attacking defenders.
While he has been applying a forward tag in 2010, Ryan has also been a bit of a goal-sneak, as his five-goal haul in round 14 against Port Adelaide shows.
He kicked seven goals and had 30 possessions for his WAFL club Subiaco last week whilst on the comeback trail from a mid-season injury, and hopes to be in line for selection for Fremantle’s final against Hawthorn on Saturday.
