OLD BOYS NEED NEW HOME

AS PORT Adelaide attempts to land departing Eagle Brad Ebert, a four-club deal is brewing between the Western Bulldogs, Greater Western Sydney and the Bulldogs that should see Power veterans Chad Cornes and Dean Brogan arrive at the Giants for next year.

The Age reports that uncontracted Bulldogs forward Josh Hill is "at the centre of talks",  and draft picks 45 and 49 could be involved in a trade to get Hill to the Eagles.

"A number of other draft picks would also change hands, with the Giants' contribution set to help uncontracted Eagle Brad Ebert get home to Port Adelaide and ensure Cornes and Brogan a smooth passage to Blacktown," writes Emma Quayle.

Quayle also believes Richmond will soon secure Adelaide ruckman Ivan Maric, "with the Crows to receive former first-round draft pick Tom Lynch from St Kilda and the Saints to take the Tigers' pick 37".

CLARK IN DEMAND
Melbourne audacious bid to snare Brisbane Lions big man Mitch Clark has attracted plenty of attention in Friday's newspapers. Herald Sun reporters Mark Stevens and Jon Ralph write that, "rumours the Demons were prepared to offer a four-year deal worth as much as $3.2 million swept the football world yesterday. The club moved quickly to play down the figures, but the offer is substantial - perhaps at least in the $600,000-a-season range."

Clark's management has repeatedly stated that he wants to return to Western Australia, where he grew up, and play for Fremantle. But the offer from Melbourne seems to get more tempting by the day.

RUCKMEN MERRY-GO-ROUND
It seems that just about every club is chasing a ruckman at the minute, and the The Age has reported that rookie Essendon ruckman Josh Jenkins continues to attracted interest from Adelaide. It is believed that Jenkins has undergone medical testing overseen by the Crows. Adelaide Advertiser senior footy writer Michelangelo Rucci says Port Adelaide is desperate to trade for Fremantle ruckman Jon Griffin, although the club is also looking closely at Sydney Swans veteran Mark Seaby.

Continuing the theme, The Age says a number of clubs have asked North Melbourne about the chances of Majak Daw becoming available. In response, the Kangaroos have extended Daw's contract for another year. But he will still begin next season on the club's rookie list.
