DESPITE the Brisbane Lions having publicly speculated about Tom Rockliff's future, the captain is likely to stay at the club, his manager Tom Petroro says.
Rockliff is contracted until the end of 2017 but Lions list manager Peter Schwab said on Friday all options were open.
Petroro, of Stride Sports Management, spoke to RSN on Monday and said Rockliff would meet with new coach Chris Fagan in the next few days.
"Tom will catch up with Chris over the coming days, and unless something different comes out of that meeting than what I expect, I find it hard to see Tom move through this period," Petroro said.
"At this point, I'm pretty confident. There can be changes through the trade period (but) I doubt Tom will be going anywhere."
Rockliff, 26, has come under fire in recent days after he tweeted out comments that he later admitted "showed a lack of respect for women".
Discarded Roo Nick Dal Santo is unlikely to play on in 2017.
"I never say never, but I envisage that Nick's got a really good career, whether that's in footy or in media," Petroro said.
"It would have to take a compelling position at a football club for Nick to play on."
Dal Santo played 322 games for St Kilda and North Melbourne. At 32, he averaged just shy of 25 disposals per game this season.
