ALICIA Eva has won the Gabrielle Trainor Medal as Greater Western Sydney's AFLW club champion.

The vice-captain polled 79 votes to beat AFLW Players' MVP Courtney Gum (69) and skipper Amanda Farrugia (61).

Last year's winner Jessica Dal Pos (52) and Elle Bennetts (49) completed the top five.

Eva, 27 next Monday, was outstanding in her first year for the Giants after joining the club from Collingwood, averaging 18 disposals and seven tackles per game.

Eva, Gum and Erin McKinnon were named in the Virgin Australian AFLW All-Australian team.

Coach Alan McConnell praised Eva for the impact she had made since arriving at the Giants.

"We knew when we recruited Alicia that she was a quality player and a quality person, and she has more than proven that in the short time she's been at our club," McConnell said.

"She has led from the front both on and off the field and absolutely deserves this honour after a consistently high-quality season."

After each game, each player was given a score between one and four by McConnell and three assistant coaches, with a maximum score of 16 votes per player per game.

The Gabrielle Trainor Medal was named after former club board member and current AFL commissioner Gabrielle Trainor, in recognition of her contribution to the club and women's football in NSW.
