AFL General Manager Football Operations Mark Evans today announced that former Port Adelaide premiership captain Warren Tredrea had been appointed as an All Australian selector.
Tredrea, who played in Port Adelaide’s maiden AFL premiership in 2004 and won four best and fairest awards in his 255-game career, joins the All Australian selection committee to fill the spot vacated by Mark Ricciuto, who resigned to join the Adelaide Crows’ board.
The All Australian selection panel is Gillon McLachlan (chairman), Kevin Bartlett, Luke Darcy, Mark Evans, Danny Frawley, Glen Jakovich, Cameron Ling, Matthew Richardson and Warren Tredrea, while the All Australian selectors, along with Kevin Sheehan, also choose the winner of the NAB AFL Rising Star Award.
