The AFL is pleased to confirm the 2023 rebel VFLW Grand Final will be broadcast live on the Seven Network in Victoria, and nationally on 7plus, with a stream also available at AFL.com.au and the AFL Live Official App. Coverage will begin from 12:00pm.

Collingwood claimed the minor premiership by finishing the home-and-away season in first spot on the ladder and advanced to the 2023 rebel VFLW Grand Final by defeating Port Melbourne in the qualifying final and Essendon in the second semi final.

Port Melbourne finished the regular season in second position and took the longer route to the premiership decider following its defeat to the Magpies in the opening week of the finals.

The Borough secured their first rebel VFLW finals victory with a one-point triumph over Carlton in the first semi final, before defeating reigning premier Essendon by 30 points in the preliminary final.

Collingwood last won the rebel VFLW flag in 2019, having also reached the Grand Final in 2021 before the season was abandoned. Port Melbourne will be making its first rebel VFLW Grand Final appearance.

AFL Head of State League Competitions Jennie Loughnan said she was looking forward to capping off a great season with the 2023 rebel VFLW Grand Final at ETU Stadium.

“We have experienced a truly outstanding rebel VFLW season and it is fitting the top two teams on the ladder from the home-and-away season will feature in the biggest game of the year,” Loughnan said.

“As the state’s premier women’s football league, the rebel VFLW competition has showcased the state’s best football talent throughout the season and this will be highlighted on Sunday in the 2023 rebel VFLW Grand Final.

“Both Collingwood and Port Melbourne are deserving grand finalists. Making it through to the premiership decider is a great achievement and one I’m sure the clubs and their supporters are very proud of.

The 2023 rebel VFLW home and away season featured 12 teams competing across a 14-round fixture.

The top-six teams on the ladder at the conclusion of the home and away season qualified for the 2023 rebel VFLW Finals Series, with the finals series played across four weeks

Selected teams for the 2023 rebel VFLW Grand Final teams will be announced on Friday, July 28.

The Lisa Hardeman Medal will be awarded to the best player on the ground.
