THE AFL is pleased to announce the Waalitj Foundation as the AFL’s Community Ticketing Program partner for the 2025 Toyota AFL Indigenous All Stars match to take place on Saturday, 15 February at Optus Stadium.
The Waalitj Foundation leads the provision of education, employment and business opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians, and as the Community Ticketing Program partner will provide 2,000 tickets to Indigenous and multicultural community groups to enjoy the Indigenous All Stars taking on Fremantle next Saturday.
The 2025 Toyota AFL Indigenous All Stars match aids in highlighting Indigenous player excellence and reinforces the AFL’s shared commitment to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples within the game of Aussie rules footy and beyond.
The Community Ticketing Program for the match is one initiative as part of the ongoing commitment from the AFL.
AFL Executive General Manager of Social Policy and Inclusion Tanya Hosch said the AFL was delighted to partner with the Waalitj Foundation for this momentous occasion.
“The Waalitj Foundation do amazing work to empower individuals, their families and communities and the AFL is thrilled to have the Waalitj Foundation as the Community Ticketing Program partner for this iconic match,” she said.
“The countdown is on, and the game is shaping up to be a fantastic celebration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander excellence, and thanks to the Waalitj Foundation there will be an extra 2,000 community members who will have the opportunity to join in and enjoy the celebration.”
The Waalitj Foundation General Manager of Community Development Troy Cook said the Foundation was honoured to be part of the 2025 Toyota AFL Indigenous All Stars match.
“As a Community Partner, the Waalitj Foundation is honoured to be a part of the AFL Indigenous All Stars Game. This event celebrates the rich cultural heritage and contributions of Indigenous players to the sport, aligning with the Foundation's mission to empower First Nations Peoples,” he said.
“From my experience as a past player, it's amazing how this game can bring the Indigenous community together from all around Australia and to celebrate our special culture.”
The Waalitj Foundation will work with community groups to distribute the 2,000 tickets. Expressions of interest should be directed to events@wf.org.au, noting that there is a limited allocation of 2,000 tickets which are expected to be snapped up quickly.
The 2025 Toyota AFL Indigenous All Stars match will take place on Saturday, 15 February 2025 at Optus Stadium in Perth, with the Indigenous All Stars taking on Fremantle as part of the AFL pre-season fixture.
