The Rams 15.12 (102) defeated Tassie 5.3 (33) which was played as a curtain-raiser to the AFL clash between Hawthorn and the Western Bulldogs.
NSW/ACT never looked threatened, as they led at every break and increased the margin along the way, while Tasmania could muster just five goals for the match.
The Rams had several stand out performers with David Trotter leading the way up forward with four goals. He helped set up the impressive start by the Rams, when he booted two goals in the opening five minutes of the match.
NSW/ACT had several other fine players including Shaun Daly (22 disposals and two goals), Nick Potter (22 possessions) and Jared Kahlefeldt (23 touches), while Nick Braybon also had a fine first-half for the Rams.
For Tasmania, Brett Robinson (23 disposals) and Allan O’Sign (19 possessions) were among its best players in an otherwise disappointing performance.
NSW/ACT opened the match in stunning fashion, booting five goals to two – including four in a row – to gain a 20-point lead at quarter-time.
The Rams continued their good form in the second term, adding a further three goals to one to extended the margin to 33 points at half-time.
NSW/ACT added three goals in the third term, while Tasmania posted two majors, yet it was the Rams by 42 points, heading into the final change.
With the game all but over, NSW/ACT added a further four goals, while Tasmania was unable to register a major in the final term.
