Goodes, who left the ground on Friday night disappointed and upset after an incident late in the fourth quarter, was best afield in the Swans' 47-point win over Collingwood, finishing with 30 possessions and three goals.
Longmire said it was "as good as he's played for a while", and he was hopeful Indigenous footballers would continue to take centre stage this round despite Friday night's ugly incident.
"I think his performance was magnificent and we should also acknowledge that. He played so well," Longmire said on Friday night.
"He's a leader in his community and he's a powerful figure … the way he drove himself tonight was pretty special."
Longmire welcomed Collingwood president Eddie McGuire coming into the Swans' room post-match to apologise, saying that was an indication of how seriously the football industry takes racial vilification.
He said Goodes, who was jovial when stretching with teammates post-match, was happy to leave the AFL to work through the fall out in the coming days.
"We've got to make sure … that'll be addressed by the authorities," he said.
"Adam was clearly disappointed and upset, and he's confident the AFL will work through it.
"I don't know a lot of details about it just yet. I think it's just disappointing."
Longmire described Friday night's win as the Swans' best performance this season, praising the team's hard running and ability to apply pressure for four quarters.
He was particularly impressed with the midfield group, led by Dan Hannebery, who continued his fine season with 31 disposals and two goals.
"It was good to get our good players playing well, and that's what you need to do when you play against a quality team like Collingwood," he said.
"I thought tonight's four-quarter performance was probably our best for the year.
"Some of those blokes through the midfield half-back area really ran strongly and gave us that bit of zip you need at the MCG.
"I thought it was a strong running game from us."
Sam Reid suffered a quad injury and will need to be assessed ahead of next Saturday's clash against Essendon at the SCG.
The key forward, who was held to one goal against brother Ben before he was subbed off in the third quarter, told Longmire he was still a chance to face the Bombers.
"I haven't had a good chat to the doctors yet, those were Sam's words," Longmire said.
"We'll see how he goes during the week."
