Demons president says first steps to revive club will occur shortly
MELBOURNE president Don McLardy has forecast significant change at the club within weeks.
However, McLardy didn’t address the future of embattled coach Mark Neeld, who will make his monthly presentation to the Demons' board on Monday.
Speculation is rife that Neeld will be sacked at the meeting.
At a function before the Melbourne-Hawthorn clash at the MCG on Sunday, McLardy also didn’t reveal the nature of the pending changes to be determined by the board in consultation with interim CEO Peter Jackson.
"I know these are tough times for everyone who loves the Demons, but I assure you our board is working very close with the CEO Peter Jackson to effect a turnaround as soon as possible, and put in place the structure that will get our club sustained success," he said.
"You can expect to hear (about) the first steps in that process over the next couple of weeks."
McLardy was confident the changes would help "turn the club around".
