ADELAIDE
After missing last weekend's horror 77-point loss to the Swans with a corked hip, David Mackay should come straightback into the line-up against Richmond. He'd be one of several changes as coachBrenton Sanderson looks to re-energise his line-up. Jared Petrenko will beassessed during the week after straining the AC joint in his shoulder, whileemergencies Mathew Wright and Jarryd Lyons were both kept from SANFL action ina possible sign they will return to the senior team this weekend. VeteranGraham Johncock did everything he could to earn an AFL comeback, booting sixgoals in the SANFL. Sturt quartet Richard Tambling (27 disposals), BrodieMartin (20 disposals, two goals), Aidan Riley (21 possessions) and MatthewJaensch (22 touches, two goals) all shone as well. – Harry Thring

BRISBANE LIONS
After their bye, the Brisbane Lions will get some injury list relief when they play Fremantle at Patersons Stadium on Saturday. Vice-captain Tom Rockliff is over the quad injury that kept him out of the round 10 loss to Collingwood and will come back in. Daniel Rich (shoulder) is getting closer to a return but is more likely the following week against Geelong, along with suspended duo Jonathan Brown and Daniel Merrett. - Michael Whiting

CARLTON
Joint vice-captain Andrew Carrazzo could miss another match with a calf problem but ruckman Robert Warnock has overcome a knee issue and is a strong chance to return to the Blues' line-up for Friday night's clash with Hawthorn at Etihad Stadium. Chris Yarran is on thin ice after his shocker against Essendon. With coach Mick Malthouse still working out which players can play pressure football, others who could come into calculations for a senior berth include young gun Troy Menzel, Tom Bell, Josh Bootsma, Sam Rowe, Jeremy Laidler, Aaron Joseph, Nick Duigan and Matthew Watson. - Ben Collins

COLLINGWOOD
The Pies will be careful not to rush Jamie Elliott (hamstring) and Sam Dwyer (groin) back for Sunday’s twilight clash against the Bulldogs. Elliott was touch and go for the Queen’s Birthday game while Dwyer has struggled to regain full pace after injuring his groin in the lead up to the game in Brisbane. Andrew Krakouer did not play against Melbourne for family reasons and is no guarantee to return to a side chock full of performing smalls. Tyson Goldsack is more likely to come into calculation after the bye.  - David Schout

ESSENDON
Essendon could welcome back Courtenay Dempsey for this week's clash with Gold Coast, with the running defender a chance to be available after the chest injury which forced him out of last week's clash with Carlton. Tayte Pears and Kyle Hardingham are knocking on the door at VFL level and will be ready to come in if the Dons need some back up in defence, while Jackson Merrett is also close to a senior recall. Scott Gumbleton might also be available for selection after his minor ankle injury but might find it hard to regain a spot in the Bombers' forward line with their surplus of talls. - Callum Twomey

FREMANTLE
The Dockers are unlikely to include Michael Walters and Matthew Pavlich this week against Brisbane. Ross Lyon is taking a cautious approach with both players given their extended time on the sidelines. AlexSilvagni will come back into calculations after missing the clash against Adelaide. Viv Michie had 33 disposals in the WAFL on the weekend. Tom Sheridan had 28 touches and a goal, and Matt Taberner took five marks and kicked three goals for Peel. All three are in the mix for selection against the Lions on Saturday. - Alex Malcolm

GOLD COAST
The Suns have a host of quality players knocking on the door to play Essendon in Melbourne on Saturday, but it's hard to see coach Guy McKenna making too many changes to a winning team. Charlie Dixon (ankle) is in severe doubt and would likely be replaced by either Jared Brennan or Steven May, who both played in the reserves at the weekend after overcoming their own injuries. Karmichael Hunt (hamstring) played his first game after four weeks off, but is likely to need another hit-out in the twos before being considered for a recall. - Michael Whiting

GREATER WESTERN SYDNEY
There was a welcome name sitting at the top of Greater Western Sydney's list of best players in the reserves this week – Dom Tyson. In his third game back from
knee surgery, Tyson dominated around the stoppages in the reserves' 46-point win over NT Thunder in Darwin as he moves closer to a return to the senior team. Liam Sumner, Will Hoskin-Elliott, Sam Frost and Matt Buntine also performed well in the seconds, while rookie Kristian Jaksch and veteran Bret Thornton kicked five goals apiece. Toby Greene (quad) and Dean Brogan (back), late withdrawals from the side to face Geelong on Saturday, are expected to be fit to face Port. Coach Kevin Sheedy may not make too many changes this week, however, after his young side performed well against the Cats. - James Dampney

HAWTHORN
Fresh from the bye, the Hawks will have selection headaches ahead of their Friday night clash with Carlton. Max Bailey and Jack Gunston will both be available to return after sitting out the 95-point win over Melbourne, although Cyril Rioli is not yet expected back from his hamstring strain. Brendan Whitecross is tipped to make his return from a knee reconstruction in the VFL, where he'll build match fitness before pushing for a senior call-up in the coming weeks. - Mark Macgugan

PORT ADELAIDE
Jarrad Redden is a chance to face Greater Western Sydney this weekend, after suffering what looked to be a serious shoulder injury against the Western Bulldogs. Redden will be tested at training during the week, but the club insists he's a genuine chance to play. Fellow ruckmen Matthew Lobbe and Brent Renouf went head to head in the SANFL at the weekend, with Lobbe taking the honours - 33 hit-outs and 17 disposals to Renouf's 28 taps and just two handballs. First-year defender Tom Clurey was solid with 15 disposals, as was Nathan Blee with 21 touches. Aaron Young also managed 21 disposals and Andrew Moore put in another classy effort since his omission before the club's bye with a 30-possession game for North Adelaide. Important pair Jasper Pittard (hip flexor) and Dom Cassisi (hamstring) are still another week away from a return. – Harry Thring

RICHMOND
Young midfielders Brandon Ellis and Reece Conca are both available to return from injury, giving the Tigers a significant boost for their clash against Adelaide on Saturday. Ellis, who has missed two games with a hamstring injury, racked up 39 possessions in his last game, against Melbourne in round eight. Conca, meanwhile, has missed six games after his bright start to the season was halted by a foot injury. The Tigers' leading tackler before he was injured, he was among Coburg's best players in his VFL return before Richmond's bye. Tall forward Luke McGuane and Robin Nahas were also impressive after being sent back to VFL level. – Nathan Schmook

WESTERN BULLDOGS
The Western Bulldogs are poised to reload ahead of Sunday's clash with Collingwood. Matthew Boyd and Adam Cooney are back in contention, having recovered from injury, while Tory Dickson is also a chance after overcoming an ankle injury. Daniel Cross has excelled during his time in the VFL, and could be an option to bolster the midfield. Lachie Hunter remains an outside chance for a debut, as he continues his strong season in the seconds. With Tom Williams sidelined for the season, Lukas Markovic could be a suitable replacement down back. - Jacqui Reed
