The Tigers (6-4) have made significant ground in the past month, winning three of four games before their round 11 bye, but they still find themselves in ninth place - familiar territory for the yellow and black. Saturday's clash against Adelaide (5-6), which has lost its past two games, is another test of Richmond's finals credentials. The Crows are desperate for redemption after their 77-point loss to the Sydney Swans, the club's worst home loss in 19 years. Making their task more difficult is the likely return of Richmond young guns Brandon Ellis and Reece Conca, who have added impressive depth to the Tiger midfield.

1. Richmond led at half-time and the final change when the sides last met, in round 14, 2012 at AAMI Stadium, but was overrun and lost by 19 points.  

2. Richmond has won two of the last three clashes between the sides, but Adelaide has won six of the last eight. The Crows lead overall, winning 20 games to 10. 

3. The sides haven’t met at the MCG since 2010. Adelaide’s two biggest wins at the venue – 110-points in 1992 and 94 points in 1993 – were both against Richmond.

4. Both teams have struggled for tackling in 2013 so far. Richmond is ranked last and Adelaide 15th.

5. In 2012 the Crows were the second ranked contested possession side. In 2013 they have slipped to eight. Richmond was fifth in 2012, and in 2013 they are 15th.

6. Jack Riewoldt has climbed from No.63 to No.46 overall in the Official AFL Player Ratings, and he is now the No.5 ranked forward. Adelaide is one club he is yet to fire against, however, kicking just 10 goals in six games.
