JEREMY Cameron has sealed his status as a superstar-in-waiting, taking out the 2013 Kevin Sheedy Medal on Saturday night for Greater Western Sydney's best and fairest player.

The 20-year-old, who has just 37 career games under his belt, earned 64 votes to finish ahead of last year's inaugural winner Callan Ward (59 votes), Tom Scully (55) and Dylan Shiel (41).

Cameron, who was also named in the 40-man All Australian squad, kicked 62 goals from his 21 games to finish third in the Coleman Medal.

For a team that won just one match in 2013, Cameron's exploits in the forward line were nothing short of sensational, including aclub-record seven goals against Collingwood in round 18.

“Jeremy Cameron had to play a lone hand up forward for a lot of the season," said Sheedy, who presented the youngster with the award in front of more than 400 guests in Sydney.

"The way he provided an avenue to goal from limited inside 50s was outstanding.

“You have to remember that Jeremy didn’t play a game of football until he was 15 years old.

"He’s worked very hard since coming to the Giants and he deserves this award.”

GWS co-captain Ward had another excellent season, averaging 23 possessions, 4.5 marks and 4.5 tackles across 21 games to seal his second straight top-two finish in the Sheedy Medal.

Scully had his best season at senior level, the 22-year-old making 21 appearances and benefiting from his elevation to the vice-captaincy ahead of the season.

Young midfield guns Shiel and Adam Treloar, who averaged 20 and 24 disposals respectively, rounded out the top five.

The Sheedy Medal was the main prize of the night, but there also a number of other awards handed out.

Cameron left with a swag of honours, including the leading goalkicker and Members Choice awards, plus the GWS goal of the year for his stunning effort against Geelong at Skoda Stadium in round 11.

The hard-working Scully, who sets the standards in training at the Giants, walked away with the Coaches Award, while fellow No.1 draft pick Lachie Whitfield won the club's Rising Star award.

Mark Whiley was named the NEAFL player of the year and Jonathan Giles was recognised for his work in the community, taking out the Giant Community Footprint award.
