GWS list manager confirms the club's intentions to lure Dustin Martin
GREATER Western Sydney is in the process of finalising an offer to out-of-contract Richmond star Dustin Martin after touring him around club facilities on Thursday.
Giants list manager Stephen Silvagni confirmed the club's intentions to lure Martin.
"There's obviously a decision for Dustin to make but we've got to go back amongst ourselves to discuss certain options we have with other players we're dealing with," Silvagni told Channel Nine's The Footy Show.
"Dustin was up here today to visit his father and we took the opportunity show him around our facilities and have a bit of a chat to him.
"It was just a chat, obviously his manager Ralph Carr said that he'd like to look at some opportunities and we felt we'd be neglectful in not speaking to Dustin and his management."
Martin flew to Sydney this morning with Carr, undecided on his playing future.
Coach Leon Cameron, CEO David Matthews, general manager of football Graeme Allan and Silvagni met with Martin and Carr.
The Giants on Thursday confirmed it had flagged its discussions with Richmond.
When quizzed on how the Giants would provide support to Martin off-field - similar to what Richmond has offered this season - Silvagni replied: "I think you're out of line there."
"We've obviously done our due diligence, we're happy with where things are at at the moment and we'll continue to work through certain things.
"We've got to do our homework and we feel Dustin is a good person."
