NORTHMelbourne's most exciting young forward Aaron Black has resisted a temptingoffer from Fremantle and re-signed with the Roos to the end of 2017.

Blackwas contracted for next season but AFL.com.au understands the Roos have securedthe 22-year-old for a further three years after his breakthrough 2013 season.

Black'sre-signing is a coup in more ways than one for the Roos.

Itis understood Black battled homesickness in the second half of this season andwas considering moving home to Western Australia.

Fremantlerecently made the 192cm forward a lucrative long-term offer that had Blacktoying with requesting a trade in October despite having a year to run on his contract.

Afterplaying just four games in his first three seasons at North, Black played 18games this season and kicked 33.23.

Fromthe moment the 22-year-old returned to the Roos' team in round five this yearagainst Hawthorn he quickly stamped himself as one of North's most excitingyoungsters.

Quickon the lead, strong above his head and cat-like when the ball hits the ground, the former basketballer looks set to be a key part of North's attack for yearsto come.
