ELLIOT Yeo has become the third Brisbane Lions youngster torequest a trade to his home state, asking to return to Western Australia.
Yeo joins teammates Patrick Karnezis (Victoria) and JaredPolec (South Australia) in asking to be traded.
Victorians Billy Longer and Sam Docherty are also exploringa possible return home, but have yet to finalise a decision.
Yeo, 19, was taken with the 30th pick of the 2011 NAB AFLDraft and has played 27 games in his two seasons.
He played 19 matches in 2013 and appeared a cornerstone ofthe Lions' future with his pace and rebound from half-back.
The club has not given up retaining Yeo.
"Despite Elliot Yeoexpressing his desire to head home to Western Australia, we regardhim as a required player at the Brisbane Lions," Lions nationaltalent manager Rob Kerr said.
"We value Elliothighly as both a player and a person, and as such, we will be focused onretaining his services."
The five youngsters eitherrequesting or contemplating trades were all top-30 picks in the past threedrafts.
Midfielder JamesPolkinghorne is also believed to be contemplating a return to Victoria.
However, along with Longerand Docherty, the 24-year-old may wait until the Lions appoint a senior coachto make a firm decision.
