EMERGING Port Adelaide star Ollie Wines has given the best indication yet that he'll re-sign with the club, claiming a deal is "in the works".
The No.7 pick in the 2012 NAB AFL Draft, Wines proved an instant hit at Alberton Oval, picking up 24 touches and kicking a goal in his debut.
The 19-year-old played every game last year averaging 19 disposals and finished third in the NAB AFL Rising Star Award behind Gold Coast's Jaeger O'Meara and Adelaide's Brad Crouch.
Answering fan-submitted questions in a live stream on portadelaidefc.com.au, Wines said a contract extension was close to being finalised, and that he'd also like to finish his career a one-club player.
"I'm yet to sign at this stage, I leave that to my manager and I don't really want to rush into any decisions," he said.
"I think there's something in the works so stay tuned… at this stage I'm just focused on training hard and putting in a good performance on the track.
"You look at some of the greatest players and they've all played at one club, so obviously I'd like to forge a career and my own personal history here.
"Hopefully it all plays out and I'm a one-club player."
