BRISBANE Lions forward Josh Green will remain at the club until at least the end of 2016 after agreeing to a two-year deal.
Green, 21, was drafted from Tasmania with pick 32 in the 2010 NAB AFL Draft and has bucked the trend of recent young Lions wanting out of the club.
Jared Polec (Port Adelaide) and Patrick Karnezis (Collingwood) were taken by the Lions in the same draft as Green and left at the end of last season, citing homesickness.
Billy Longer (St Kilda), Sam Docherty (Carlton) and Elliot Yeo (West Coast) were taken in the 2011 draft and also left at the finish of last season.
But Green said his decision to stay was an easy one.
"Brisbane is now home," Green said.
"There is a lot of exciting young talent at the club and I really want to be a part of the future."
It is the second re-signing in two days for the Lions, who on Tuesday announced that midfielder Jack Redden would also be at the club until the end of 2016.
Green has forged a home as a creative small forward who applies pressure and kicks goals.
He has 39 goals from 34 matches, including 24 from 17 in 2013.
