BRISBANE Lions midfielder Tom Rockliff will miss the Lions clash against Geelong at the Gabba on Sunday after accepting a one-match ban for engaging in rough conduct against Hawthorn's Sam Mitchell.

Rockliff, 24, tangled with Mitchell in the first quarter of Saturday's game at Aurora Stadium and the match review panel offered him a one-match ban.

It is the first time Rockliff, who finished sixth in last year's Brownlow medal after polling 19 votes, has been reported in his 84-game career.

West Coast midfielder Sharrod Wellingham will also be free to play against Melbourne at the MCG on Sunday after accepting a reprimand and 66 demerit points towards his future record for tripping Western Bulldog Jason Johannisen.

Wellingham, 25, played just 10 games for the Eagles in 2013 after being traded from Collingwood. In 94 games with the Magpies he was reported once – for rough conduct – when he ran through Carlton's Kade Simpson and broke his jaw in 2012.
