The 20-year-old decided to take two months leave from the Power to be home with family back in Ireland in late February.
Flynn's grandfather was gravely ill and later died.
Flynn will recommence training with the club next week after he arrives back in Australia.
He played recently for the European Legion against the AIS-AFL Academy team in London.
"Daniel's obviously very close to his family and they've been very supportive of him coming back to Port Adelaide," football manager Peter Rohde told portadelaidefc.com.au.
"We know the players will welcome him back and we'll work to make sure he settles back into life here in Adelaide."
The Power will give him a couple of weeks to get accustomed to the AFL lifestyle before he is ready to line-up for the Port Adelaide Magpies in the SANFL.
"He'll start training again when he comes back, but it would be a few weeks before he starts playing," Rohde said.
"He's all booked in to arrive next week and from there we'll go through the process of getting him back into the football program here."
