Cox broke the West Coast games record earlier this year, going past four-time club best and fairest Glen Jakovich's previous mark of 276 games against Geelong in round four.
The six-time All Australian ruckman said at the time that he would make a decision on his future at the end of the year and he confirmed on 6PR on Wednesday that nothing had changed.
"The decision will be at the end of the season," Cox said.
"I think I can still offer a little bit around the footy club, that's on the field and also off it."
West Coast chief executive Trevor Nisbett said last week he was keen to see Cox continue on in 2015 but added that the club needed to be smarter in the managing the 32-year-old's body.
Cox ended a streak of 104 consecutive matches last Saturday when he was rested for the first time since 2009. Cox said it was mutual decision reached with coach Adam Simpson.
"Myself and Simmo spoke on the Monday after the Hawthorn game and decided that my body needed a little bit of a break," Cox said.
"So the decision was made just to really try and freshen up.
Cox said it was a tough pill to swallow given how durable he had been over the past four years, but believed it was necessary.
"I suppose it's been spoken about for a couple of years and you've seen it across the AFL over the past couple of years - the older you get, the slower you do recover," Cox said.
"It's just a chance to have a break and get the body right.
"It's about when I play, can I play with the best freshness and the best possible football I want to play.
"If that means I have to have a week, if that means I have to have two, if that means I have to have a rest later on in the year, well so be it."
Cox is expected to return to the Eagles line-up to face St Kilda on Sunday at Etihad Stadium.
