Daniel Giansiracusa, Western Bulldogs, has been charged with a level two engaging in rough conduct offence (225 points, two-match sanction) for engaging in rough conduct against Jared Polec, Port Adelaide, during the fourth  quarter of the Round 14 match between the Western Bulldogs and Port Adelaide, played at the Adelaide Oval on Saturday June 21, 2014.

In summary, he can accept a $900 sanction with an early plea.

Jordie McKenzie, Melbourne, has been charged with a level three striking offence (225 points, two-match sanction) for striking Lindsay Thomas, North Melbourne, during the second quarter of the Round 14 match between Melbourne and North Melbourne, played at the MCG on Sunday June 22, 2014.

 

In summary, he can accept a one-match sanction with an early plea.

This is a total of six activation points, resulting in a classification of a Level Three Offence, drawing 225 demerit points and a two-match sanction. He has no existing good or bad record. An early plea reduces the sanction by 25 per cent to 168.75 demerit points and a one-match sanction.

 

Contact between the Gold Coast Suns’ Jaeger O’Meara and the Geelong Cats’ Allen Christensen from Saturday’s match was assessed. The ball was kicked to the wing area where Gold Coast’s Charlie Dixon and Geelong’s Jared Rivers were to contest the ball, with O’Meara and Christensen approaching the front of the contest from the other direction. As the ball arrives, Rivers pushes Dixon while, simultaneously, O’Meara pushes Christensen as the pair in front of the marking contest await the ball. O’Meara has his eyes on the ball when he pushes his opponent and Dixon makes high contact with Christensen. It was the view of the panel that O’Meara was seeking to gain best position at ground level and his actions could not have foreseen Dixon also being pushed into a position where contact with Christensen would occur. No further action was taken.

 

Contact between West Coast’s Luke Shuey and St Kilda’s Nick Riewoldt from the first quarter of Sunday’s match was assessed. Riewoldt is leading to the ball and jumps for a mark. As the ball is going over the St Kilda player’s head, Shuey makes contact to the back of his opponent and Riewoldt falls heavily. A free kick was paid at the time for the push and it was the view of the panel that Shuey was seeking to spoil and his actions were not unreasonable in the circumstances. No further action was taken.
