CARLTON young star Troy Menzel has been cleared of significant knee damage, but the news is not so good for Andrejs Everitt who has been ruled out for up to a month.
Everitt has been diagnosed with a low-grade posterior cruciate ligament strain in his left knee, meaning he is set to miss between three to four weeks of action.
The Blues recruit injured his knee in the first term and was substituted out of the game in the second term in the club's 23-point win over North Melbourne.
But the Blues' fears around Menzel were allayed on Saturday morning when the 19-year-old Menzel was found to only have bone bruising.
There were concerns Menzel may have damaged the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee, after he landed awkwardly in a marking contest late in the game.
Menzel had LARS surgery as a 16-year-old when he was playing for Central Districts in the SANFL.
Carlton football manager Andrew McKay said the Blues were thankful to receive positive news on Menzel.
"As awkward as it looked in the replay, Troy actually felt OK post-match and the scans this morning showed no structural damage to his knee," McKay said.
"With the bone bruising Troy will be sore for a few days, but with next weekend being the bye round, he will be available for selection against Fremantle."
