WEST Coast has re-signed defender Brad Sheppard and ruckman Callum Sinclair until the end of the 2016 season.
Sheppard has enjoyed arguably his best season at AFL level under new coach Adam Simpson. The 23-year-old has settled into a permanent defensive role after being used as a utility in previous seasons.
He's played just 58 games in five seasons after being drafted with pick No. 7 in the 2009 draft.
Sinclair has been upgraded from the rookie list this year due to the long-term injury of Beau Waters and the ruckman has been rewarded with his first senior contract.
The 24-year-old has been starved of opportunities given the ruck depth at West Coast, having played just nine matches in two seasons, but he told the Eagles' website he was looking forward to the next two years.
"I have enjoyed the last couple of seasons at West Coast and see an exciting future at the club," Sinclair said.
"I am keen to get more opportunities in the AFL to be part of what is building here."
Sinclair may get further chances to impress at senior level given the looming retirement of Dean Cox.
Scott Lycett's future at the club beyond this year remains unknown as he is yet to sign a new deal despite his management being in discussions with the club. Port Adelaide has expressed interest in the 21-year-old ruckman who is originally from South Australia.
Eagles football manager Craig Vozzo told the club website that he was very pleased to confirm the contract extensions of both Sheppard and Sinclair.
"We have great faith in both Cal and Brad and what they offer our list," Vozzo said.
"Apart from what everyone sees in their on-field performances, they are also quality young men and are an important part of our plans.
"Both have already shown in the games they have played that they have the attributes we need to push up the ladder and we look forward to them playing their roles within the team."
