AHOY there, me hearties and welcome back to the greatest Fantasy article in the land, Calvin’s Captains.

It’s finals time and although I may not be involved in this process due to some skullduggery in my Fantasy fixturing, I have still been crunching numbers in an effort to nail you the greatest AFL Fantasy captain for this round.

STEVIE FREE… OR IS HE?
Steve Johnson [MID, $563,060] is free to play this week after appealing the Tribunal's decision on Tuesday night.

Ryan Crowley would have been sitting at home, refreshing his Twitter account, just waiting to see if he was going to be given the job to run with the Geelong star once again.

Crowley certainly has had Johnson’s measure in the past, tagging him and beating him in the last three games they have met to scores of 56, 75 and 68, with the most recent occurring in round nine this year.

This is a huge concern for Johnson and his Fantasy coaches.

Crowley is a quality tagger and has held his last five opponents to an average of just 79 which included Pearce Hanley (47) and Marc Murphy (87) last week.

Joel Selwood [MID, $554,432] has been in electrifying form scoring 137, 140 and 121 in his last three games. In the past, Crowley has avoided Selwood on all but one occasion allowing him to score 138, 79, 38, 105, 114 and 111 against the Dockers. But as you can see, that score of 38 was due to the ‘one occasion’ when Crowley wore him like a glove. Why?... because Johnson didn’t play due to suspension that day in 2013.

With Johnson free to play this week and Crowley set to target him once again, maybe Selwood can keep his amazing run going.

MACRAE ALL DAY
Ok, it takes a lot for me to get excited about the Bulldogs but this week Jack Macrae [MID, $549,559] has certainly done the job.

Macrae has averaged 133 in his last three games and meets St Kilda this week under the roof at Etihad Stadium. St Kilda have given up the greatest amount of Fantasy points for the season, which indicates that Macrae will have a day out.

When Macrae has met such Fantasy fodder this year, he has certainly made the most of his opportunities, scoring well against the Brisbane Lions (139), West Coast (122), Collingwood (117), Greater Western Sydney (134) and only failing against the unpredictable Demons (71 and 75).

Many people will play a straight bat this week by making Tom Rockliff their captain. However, Macrae just might be the dark horse you need to get you over the line in your first final.

WAY OUT WEST
Matt Priddis [MID, $561,588]
has been on fire. He is coming off scores of 100 and 147 in his last two games with an average of 125 in his last five at Patersons Stadium. When the Eagles met Collingwood in round 10, Priddis backed up his 115 from last year with an impressive 137. He has form and history on his side this week and is a top option.

He’ll be up against  Dayne Beams [MID, $524,893] who has also started to hit some much needed form heading into finals with scores of 136 and 113 in recent weeks. He scored 113 against the Eagles earlier this year which happened to be his lowest score against them in his last four games.

Steele Sidebottom [MID, $581,636] is currently carrying one of the best five-game averages in the competition with 124. He scored 115 against the Eagles earlier this year, just shy of the 119 scored by his captain Scott Pendlebury [MID, $533,674].

With that said, West Coast are easily Pendlebury’s favourite team to score Fantasy points against. With an amazing run of scores of 119, 129, 119, 129, 138, 131, 124 and 139 against them he is set to dominate once again, despite only averaging 92 in his last three games.

West Coast tagger Mark Hutchings will have his sights firmly set on Pendlebury after successfully restricting Patrick Dangerfield (84) and Trent Cotchin (54) in the last two weeks.

Champions like Pendlebury don’t stay down for long and I’m tipping him to bounce back in a big way on Sunday afternoon.

THE PIG RETURNS TO HIS STY
Oink oink… the newly crowned pig returns home to the Gabba, a ground he has averaged 135 at, with over half of his scores reaching the 140+ mark this year.

Tom Rockliff [MID, $681,925] scored 110 last week and has now averaged 140 in his last three.

However this round he meets Adelaide, a team he has struggled against in the past scoring just 77 and 81 in his last two game against the Crows.

As scary as this is, we have to back him in, based on the fact he is back at home and last week, Priddis (100) and Andrew Gaff (124) scored solidly against the Crows. If this game was being played anywhere else, my thoughts would be completely different and Rockliff would not have my number one position.

Back the pig in for another big feeding session again this week. #oink

JUST QUICKLY...
Once again, here are few more of the popular players I have looked at. If I have missed your favourite, please message me on Twitter (@CalvinDT) and I’ll do my best to cover them in round 21.

Dyson Heppell [MID, $514,519] v Richmond at the MCG:  Heppell hasn’t scored over 100 against the Tigers in his last four games. He has scored 101 and 103 in his last two and brings too much risk.

Rory Sloane [MID, $518,346] v Brisbane Lions at the Gabba:  Sloane has only averaged 93 in his last three games and has only scored over 120 on two occasions. He’s against the Brisbane Lions though, who can leak a lot of points but we want a captain who can post higher than 120 on a more consistent basis.

Lance Franklin [FWD, $504,076] v Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval:  Last time Franklin played against the Power he kicked 5.4 and top scored for the Swans with 122. If he has his radar switched on, this time it might be more.

Levi Greenwood [MID, $536,973] v Greater Western Sydney at Spotless Stadium:  After Brett Deledio (125), Trent Cotchin (113) and Brandon Ellis (110) scored well against the Giants last week, I’m tipping Greenwood come up trumps after an impressive round 19 score of 105 against the Cats.

Brent Stanton [MID, $511,748] v Richmond at the MCG: Stanton has scored 128, 149 and 144 in his last three against Richmond but is too unreliable. He has posted two scores of 68 this season along with a nasty 65 last week. His history here looks fantastic, but no one wants a captain who has the potential to score under 70.

Brent Harvey [MID, $496,725] v Greater Western Sydney at Spotless Stadium: Harvey’s score of 71 last week was his worst for the year and he has only average 96 against the Giants since they joined the AFL in 2012.

Brandon Ellis [MID, $518,498] v Essendon at the MCG: Ellis scored 110 last week and posted 104 when he met the Bombers in round 11. He scored 143 against them in 2013 and has averaged 114 in his last three at the MCG.

Josh P. Kennedy [MID, $564,024] v Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval:  Kennedy scored 94 against the Power in round 13, his best score against them in his last three games. Not great Fantasy numbers for a Brownlow medal prospect.

Trent Cotchin [MID, $519,513] v Essendon at the MCG: Cotchin has averaged 115 in his last five games against the Bombers and that’s with a score of 86 in his last encounter. He had 113 last week which was his sixth triple-figure score in his last seven games.

Nick Riewoldt [FWD, $466,526] v Western Bulldogs at Etihad Stadium:  Riewoldt has been in great form scoring 104 and 164 in his last two games but is far from captaincy material after having just 80 against the Western Bulldogs when he met them last year.

Michael Barlow [MID, $546,414] v Geelong at Simonds Stadium:  Geelong are easily Barlow’s worst team to score Fantasy points against and meeting them at Simonds Stadium will certainly not help this situation. He has only averaged 81 against them over his career and posted 98 when they met in round nine. He did have 134 last week but it’s going to be much tougher here.
